On Friday, we held a fun competition about traditional v. modern wreaths. Head on over to vote! Right now, we are tied but still want to know your opinion.
In the meantime, here is a step by step tutorial on creating Daughter’s Modern Spring Wreath.
- Wreath form
- White Poppies (or your choice)
- Wire Cutters
- Twine (optional)
- Black Ribbon (or your choice)
- Burlap Ribbon (optional)
- Floral picks
- Hot Glue
Daughter started with a vibrant green wreath form purchased at Wal-Mart (who knew?). The texture isn’t moss but more like turf grass.
Next, she used the wire cutters to trim the artificial flowers to size and wrapped them with twine and then black ribbon.
Daughter decided to place the flowers only on one side of the wreath. She secured the flowers with floral picks. To camouflage the metal picks, she wrapped the black ribbon and hot glued to the back of the wreath.
Now to add the details. To hang the wreath, Daughter choose to layer the black ribbon on top of a wider burlap ribbon. She also used twine to add a bow details near the flowers.
A quick and easy Modern Spring Wreath for a front door, interior door or any space in the home.
