A few months ago, Daughter shared her mood board for her revamped Master Bedroom. Well, we’ve worked on the room little by little and although it is incomplete, we thought we share our progress. Here is the original post: Daughter’s Master Bedroom Mood Board.
Next week, we will break down the different areas and projects of the room. But for today, here is a small glimpse into the evolving decor.
Daughter started with paint, creating a blank canvas. Daughter and her hubby painted the entire room Winter Mood from Olympic. The paint is a cream white and is a stark contrast from the Benjamin Moore Lenox Tan. It took Daughter and Hubby several days to adjust to the new bright feel of the room. (Side note: Daughter loves, loves Lenox Tan. The rest of her main living space is painted in this rich neutral.)
With a blank canvas, Daughter went back to her mood board and focused on finding the appropriate nightstands, imagining some artwork and creating the DIY headboard. Happily, this side of the room is now complete, minus a bed skirt and a few small items.
Daughter already had the large blonde dresser, the large gold oversize mirror and Potterybarn’s Phillipa Ikat Bedding, no longer available online. For her wedding anniversary, Georgia surprised Daughter with a wonderful vanity! A nice addition to the bedroom!
The tall blonde dresser needs some decorative items and perhaps the door knobs painted.
Items that still need to be purchased: Crate and Barrel’s Kendal Curtain Panels, a long narrow bench for the foot of the bed and a lot of decorative accessories!
And last but not least, purchase an original piece of art to finish the transformation. Daughter has always admired Michelle Armas’ work and would be thrilled with That Bowtie I Like canvas.
Next week, Daughter will break down the DIY King headboard (Monday), the bedside tables – IKEA hack (Wednesday) and the new Teal Dresser (Friday). So come back and see us!
